Q: Why am I doing this?
A: I have always had a fascination and passion for bridges and trains. From a seventh-grade science fair project
to exploring the underside of bridges like some troll, I always liked bridges. I finally had the opportunity to share
that interest with other modelers.
Q: What are your future release plans?
A: It will depend on how well the next bridge does, what catches my eye and what my layout needs! Input from
others is always appreciated. It all depends on my "hobby" time, technique development and funds.
Q: What is a cast resin kit?
A: Casting resin is a two-part liquid that is poured into RTV "rubber" molds. When it sets, it is remarkably similar
to plastic. I use industrial prototyping techniques that allow for thin-section castings with little flash to clean up. I
design the parts to be multi-dimensional so there are fewer parts in the kit. The cast resin kits have the look and
feel of a styrene kit. Plus, I include features that help you align the parts, and my instructions are always
thorough and clear.
Q: How accurate is the cast resin model?
A: It is as precise as my originals. I make the master parts by hand using styrene, embossing the rivets and
assembling the parts. I then make the mold, which picks up all details and flaws of the original. So the fit and
finish in this case depend on me, but I think you will be pleased with the result.
Q: How do I paint the bridge?
A: Airbrushing is the best method. Paint the sub-assemblies first so you can get at all the beam details. I explain
this in the manual.
Q: What about track and installation?
A: The bridges are designed for any type of track. You can hand-lay track, use Micro-Engineering bridge flex
track or use regular flex with thick ties. The manual has detailed dimensions for correctly spaced piers. It is
important to supply a firm mounting surface; because my bridges work like the prototype and have realistically thin
parts they need to be supported evenly.
Please email any other questions you may have. Thanks for your interest in my bridges!
